Shopee To Introduce RM0.50 Platform Support Fee Per Delivered Order From 16 July
Author Avatar

Shopee Malaysia will begin charging sellers a RM0.50 Platform Support Fee for every successfully delivered order starting 16 July 2025. The fee, subject to 8% SST, will be automatically deducted before the sales proceeds are credited to the seller’s account.

According to Shopee, the charge is meant to support continuous improvements to the platform, including upgrades like the Shopee Seller Centre app, AI-generated content tools, and the Shop AI Assistant, all designed to help sellers grow and streamline the shopping experience for buyers.

Newer Sellers Won’t Be Charged Right Away

To ease the transition for small businesses, the fee will only apply after a seller has either surpassed 120 days since listing their first product or fulfilled 100 orders. Sellers who haven’t hit either threshold yet will not be charged.

Orders fulfilled under the Fulfilled by Shopee (FBS) programme will also be exempt.

What’s the Fee Actually For?

Shopee explained that this service fee is separate from commission and transaction fees. While those cover services like payment processing and seller support, the Platform Support Fee goes towards funding platform upgrades and new seller-facing tools.

The company said the goal is to ensure a better, more efficient experience for both merchants and shoppers.

Sellers Can Track Charges in Seller Centre

Sellers will be able to monitor the fee via their Shopee Seller Centre account. The amount will appear in tax invoices under the “My Income” section for orders marked as delivered or for refunds accepted immediately — excluding those where the item was not received.

Shopee is encouraging sellers to review their tax invoices regularly and to reach out via the in-app Help Centre if they spot any discrepancies or need clarification.
