STR Phase 3 Payments Begin, RM2 Billion Distributed To 8.6 Million Malaysians
Author Avatar

The third phase of the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) cash aid programme has begun today, with RM2 billion set to reach approximately 8.6 million eligible Malaysians.

Higher Number of Recipients in Phase 3

According to the Ministry of Finance, the number of recipients in this phase has increased by 300,000 compared to the first phase in January. Each recipient will receive up to RM650, depending on eligibility criteria.

The ministry said the increase was due to the government opening new applications and appeals throughout the year, ensuring that assistance is extended to those who qualify.

Government’s Commitment to Inclusive Support

Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the initiative reflects the Madani government’s commitment to improving the well-being of the people and ensuring no one is excluded from sharing in the nation’s prosperity.

He added that the STR programme has supported recipients in improving their financial resilience, contributing to the government’s broader goals under the Madani economy framework.

Applications and Eligibility Checks

Malaysians not listed in the STR database are asked to submit an application for verification against the set eligibility criteria [PDF].

Recipients can check their payment status, review eligibility, and access the FAQ section via the official STR portal.
