A special-edition gold coin featuring Wira and Manja, the sun bear mascots of Visit Malaysia 2026, has been launched to support the national tourism campaign. The release marks an early private-sector contribution to efforts promoting Malaysia ahead of the 2026 tourism drive.

The coin combines tourism branding with a physical collectable aimed at both locals and visitors.

Public-Private Collaboration Supports Tourism Goals

Tourism Malaysia chairman Datuk Manoharan Periasamy said the initiative highlights the type of public-private collaboration encouraged under the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.

He added that partnerships between government agencies and private companies are expected to support tourism promotion throughout the campaign period.

Strategic Partnerships Aim To Attract More Visitors

Tourism Malaysia director general Mohd Amirul Rizal Abdul Rahim said collaboration with the private sector is important as Malaysia prepares for higher tourist arrivals. He added that initiatives led by businesses align with the government’s approach under Visit Malaysia 2026.

He also noted that the gold coin could serve as a collectable souvenir for visitors, while contributing to the local gold and jewellery industry.

Gold Coin Designed As A Cultural Souvenir

SMS Deen Jewellers chief executive officer Mohamad Shaifudeen said the project was intended to contribute to the country, not purely for commercial purposes. He explained that the coin’s packaging features short stories about Malaysian culture, food, and infrastructure.

He added that the company was proud to support the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign through this initiative.

Pricing And Availability Details

The limited-edition 24-karat gold coin weighs 0.2 gram and is priced at RM199. A foldable pack containing eight coins is priced at RM1,599.

The coin is available at SMS Deen Jewellers outlets nationwide from 19 January and can also be purchased through the company’s TikTok platform starting 15 January.
