You Can Now Check Company Registrations Through TNG eWallet
Author Avatar

You can now look up registered companies and businesses directly in the TNG eWallet, following a partnership between TNG Digital Sdn Bhd and Raffcomm Group that brings the Companies Commission of Malaysia’s (SSM) e-Info service into the app.

The integration lets you search SSM’s official registry and purchase and download documents such as company profiles, business information, and financial statements without leaving the eWallet. Before this, you had to go through dedicated SSM e-Info portals to access the same records.

Raffcomm Group is an authorised SSM e-Info service provider and licensed certification authority, while SSM remains the official custodian of the registry data. The feature is already live in the app.

What You Can Search And Download

The SSM registry covers every legally registered business in the country, from Sdn Bhd companies to sole proprietorships and partnerships. A free basic search tells you whether a business exists under the name it claims, whether it is active or dissolved, and its registration number.

Official documents cost extra. A company profile is priced from RM15 and lists directors, shareholders, the registered address, and the nature of the business, while shareholder details start from RM25. Prices exclude 8% SST, and payment is made from your eWallet balance.

Checking A Business Before You Hand Over Money

Before you pay a deposit or accept a job offer, a quick SSM search shows whether the company behind it is registered and still active. Anyone can build a convincing website or social media page, but they cannot fake an official SSM record.

For a deposit, ask for the company name and registration number on the quote or invoice. Search that name in the app, and match the registration number in the results against the one you were given. If the name does not appear, or the number belongs to a different business, do not pay.

The same check works on a job offer. Search the employer’s name before you agree to an interview. If the company is not in the registry, turn the offer down.

If you suspect fraud, call the 997 National Scam Response Centre hotline immediately. Our guide on how to spot financial fraud covers the warning signs to watch for before any payment leaves your account.
