Honor has launched the world’s thinnest and lightest AI foldable phone in Malaysia, just hours after its global launch in Berlin, Germany at the IFA technology conference. Pre-orders for the device starts today at a starting price of RM6,999.
The Honor Magic V3 breaks its predecessor’s record as the world’s thinnest smartphone. At just 9.2mm and 4.35mm when unfolded and a weight of just 226g, its dimensions and weight are similar to that of a regular flagship bar phone.
Honor also went to great lengths to tout the durability of the foldable device. Made from a new Aerospace Special Fibre material that Honor claims surpasses the strength of Kevlar and carbon fibre, the Honor Magic V3’s impact resistance is 40x greater than the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The new hinge is also touted as the industry’s slimmest and strongest, made from Honor Super Steel, and with an extra set of swing arms to enhance resilience and earning the SGS Durability Certification.

As for the screens, Honor has plenty of upgrades to enhance durability – the outer screen is made from Honor Anti-Scratch NanoCrystal Shield that has 10x the shock absorption capabilities of regular glass. Meanwhile, the inner display features the Honor Super Armored Inner Screen. The device itself is rated IPX8 for water resistance.
As for the hardware, it’s what you’d expect from a flagship 2024 device. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with 12GB of RAM and 512GB storage. The dual-battery setup has a huge 5,150mAh capacity, and if that’s not enough, there’s 66W wired and 50W wireless fast charge technologies to ensure you never need to charge for too long.
Moving to the cameras, Honor has labeled it’s triple-camera setup as Honor Falcon Camera, featuring a 50MP main camera + 40MP ultrawide camera + 50MP periscope telephoto camera. Inside the inner display, there’s also a 20MP selfie camera.
Lastly, Honor also introduced a number of display technologies designed to protect the user’s eyes. Dubbed Honor Eye Comfort Display, it includes Dynamic Dimming, Circadian Night Display, Low Blue Light Technology, and 4320Hz Risk-Free PWM Dimming.
As an AI device, the Honor Magic V3 brings a host of AI enhancements across the board. Powered by Google Cloud, the device leverages on the power of generative AI with AI Erase image editing, Face To Face Translation with real-time translation (with Bahasa Malaysia support!), and AI Office features such as voice-to-text translation, live translate, and group discussion transcription.

The Honor Magic V3 is now open for pre-orders in Malaysia, with a retail price of RM6,999. All pre-orders will also come with RM2,896 worth of freebies, including:
