BSN has supported nearly 180,000 micro entrepreneurs nationwide, Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan said on 28 August. He made the remark at the BSN Mikro MADANI Carnival in Kuala Lumpur.
The event marked the close of the bank’s month-long Cerita Mereka, Jiwa Malaysia campaign ahead of Malaysia’s 69th National Day.
BSN’s core support for micro entrepreneurs includes its Micro Madani financing facility and the MSME Stabilisation Relief Facility (MSME SRF). MSME SRF offers working capital financing of up to RM100,000 to help businesses manage rising operating costs.
BSN also has a partnership with SME Bank that gives BSN’s microfinance customers access to ScoreXcess, a digital platform for small and micro financing applications.
The campaign featured 69 micro entrepreneurs from different backgrounds. The closing carnival also included financial literacy programmes for disabled entrepreneurs through MyOKU Preneur, and for rural entrepreneurs through KEMAS, Khadijah Artisans and USAHANITA.
As part of the campaign, nearly 5,000 limited-edition batik-themed cup sleeves were distributed by participating entrepreneurs to customers nationwide between 24 and 28 August. The cup sleeves were handcrafted by students from Sekolah Menengah Pendidikan Khas Vokasional Shah Alam.
BSN currently operates 387 branches and 40 Micro Finance Centres, serving more than 10.4 million customers nationwide and holding RM23.1 billion in retail deposits as of June 2026.
