Hotlink Travel SIM Now Offers Uncapped Data Across Four Countries
Author Avatar

Hotlink has removed the previous 12Mbps speed cap on its Travel Pack, allowing users to enjoy full-speed 4G and 5G data in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia. Each pack includes a large data quota, unlimited domestic calls within Malaysia, and hotspot support. This gives travellers a single SIM that works across the four countries without the need to switch networks or buy separate local SIMs.

The Travel Pack includes RM0.10 credit and a high-speed data allowance that can be used across all four supported countries. The RM35 pack provides 100GB of high-speed data with a 15-day validity, while the RM60 pack provides 200GB with a 30-day validity. Full-speed usage applies until the Fair Usage Policy limit is reached. Once the quota is used up, speeds reduce to 512kbps for the rest of the validity period.

Customers can manage their plan through the Hotlink app or by dialling *100#. After the pack’s validity ends, the SIM enters a 15-day inactive period. During this time, incoming calls and SMS remain available, while outgoing usage and data require a top-up. Any unused credit is frozen during this period and restored after the next top-up.

Where To Buy And How The Plan Works

The Travel Pack is available at Maxis Centres in KLIA 1 and 2, KLCC, NU Sentral, Langkawi International Airport, Penang International Airport, Suria Sabah, JB-1 Centre Danga Bay, and Mahkota Parade. It is only available with the Travel Pack and cannot be activated by switching from another Hotlink Prepaid plan.

Local calls cost 30 sen per minute, and SMS cost 15 sen each. Video calls follow the same rate as voice calls. Standard roaming charges apply outside the four supported countries, and travellers heading elsewhere can purchase separate Hotlink roaming passes.

Understanding Data Usage, Passes, And 5G Access

The Travel Pack supports full-speed 5G for customers with a 5G-capable device, a 4G LTE SIM, enabled 5G settings, and coverage access. Additional passes, including unlimited options, can be purchased through the Hotlink app. These optional unlimited passes come with their own speed tiers, such as 6Mbps or 12Mbps, along with uncapped 5G usage between 8pm and 8am. When more than one unlimited pass is active, the pass with the higher speed takes priority.

Also, when roaming in Singapore, Thailand, or Indonesia, users who finish their data allowance can buy an additional Travel Pass or a Data Roam Pass through the Hotlink app to restore high-speed access.

Usually I have to buy a new eSIM every time I travel, but this is way more convenient — and not crazy expensive. Finally can just use one SIM across all the countries!
