Affin Bank Launches Mobile Bank Initiative, Dubbed AFFIN Mobile Financial Centre

Affin Bank has announced the launch of a new initiative to provide easier access to banking services for its customers in selected areas, dubbed the AFFIN Mobile Financial Centre. Essentially a mobile bank on wheels, it will begin operating along selected routes and locations starting from today.

In its Facebook announcement post, Affin Bank said that the AFFIN Mobile Financial Centre is “part of our continued effort to expand our presence in providing the best service for our business in the locality”. It also shared the schedule and routes for its Mobile Financial Centre:

As you can see, the AFFIN Mobile Financial Centre will focus on five key areas across Selangor (dubbed Pemulih Routes), visiting a selected area on every designated day of the week. Operating hours start from 10am until 4pm each day at these selected places.

While it is not certain if Affin Bank will expand its AFFIN Mobile Financial Centre to other states in the future, the initiative was listed as one of several efforts that the bank hopes to roll out by the second quarter of 2022 (2Q22). Other plans that were also scheduled to be rolled out as part of Affin Bank’s targets for 2022 include the opening of several new branches and the kick-off of a new carnival.

To note, the Sarawak state government had also previously collaborated with several banks to launch a mobile bank initiative for rural folks in Sarawak. The effort – which began in mid-2021 – involved four banks, namely Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN), Bank Rakyat, Agrobank, and RHB Bank.
