Affin Bank Partners With UKM To Roll Out Co-Branded Credit And Debit Cards

Affin Bank has partnered with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) to launch its new co-branded Affin UKM Alumni credit and debit cards, featuring benefits that cater specifically to the needs of the UKM community. These include the university’s alumni and associate alumni.   

Cardholders will be able to benefit from exclusive privileges, including up to 50% discount on the fees of selected UKM services and facilities. Specifically, they can enjoy perks such as fee reductions for graduate registration, use of sports facilities and research laboratories, as well as UKM library membership.

Additionally, cardholders will be able to earn 3x Affin Rewards Points for dining, e-commerce and online, as well as overseas transactions – and enjoy a lifetime waiver on the annual fee too. Adding to the uniqueness of these new co-branded cards, they can also affix a photo of themselves onto the card, with their faculty acronym and graduation year or matric number printed.

The president and group chief executive officer of Affin Bank, Datuk Wan Razly Abdullah said that this collaboration is one of the bank’s latest efforts to reach out to more customers, offering a more personalised and convenient banking experience.

“They could benefit from the privileges offered by these co-brand credit and debit cards, as well as our other extensive products and financial solutions which will be made available to them at a competitive rate,” Datuk Wan Razly further said.

Meanwhile, the deputy vice-chancellor student affairs of UKM, Mohd Suzeren Md Jamil stated that these cards were made specifically to honour and recognise their alumni. “It is introduced to highlight the identity of UKM alumni and to represent their life-long association with their alma mater,” he said.

In conjunction with the launch of the Affin UKM Alumni credit and debit cards, there is an ongoing campaign that will put cardholders in the running to win one of three Vespa Primavera 150 motorcycles. Each approved application for the Affin UKM Alumni credit card/-i will earn the cardholder one entry for the campaign, while Affin UKM Alumni debit cardholders will receive one entry for every five retail transactions. The campaign is set to run until 15 May 2023.
