Alliance Bank has announced the extension of its Flood Relief Assistance programme to support individuals and businesses affected by the recent floods in Sabah and Sarawak. The initiative aims to alleviate financial burdens by offering relief measures, including a loan moratorium of up to six months, loan repayment modifications, and waivers on fees and charges for impacted customers.

Recognising the difficulties faced by those affected, the bank’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Kellee Kam, reaffirmed its commitment to standing by customers during these challenging times. He emphasised the bank’s focus on their well-being, acknowledging the emotional and financial strain that the floods have caused. As part of this support, Alliance Bank is also extending assistance to its employees affected by the disaster.

The Flood Relief Assistance programme is available for applications until 9 April 2025 and provides payment relief on all conventional loans and Islamic financing facilities. Additionally, the bank will waive fees for selected services, including the replacement of lost or damaged debit cards, ATM cards, cheque books, and passbooks. Customers seeking more information are encouraged to contact the bank’s Customer Service or reach out to their relationship managers, with all requests to be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

In addition to financial relief, Alliance Bank is running a Flood Relief fundraising campaign through SocioBiz, a platform under Alliance Islamic Bank. Open until 15 April 2025, the campaign invites Malaysians to contribute towards assisting flood victims in Sabah and Sarawak. Funds raised will be channelled to the Malaysian Relief Agency (MRA), a well-established organisation known for its disaster relief efforts. To maximise the impact, the bank has pledged to match every RM1 donated with RM2, effectively tripling contributions.

Members of the public who wish to support fellow Malaysians affected by the floods can participate in the fundraising campaign by visiting https://globalsadaqah.com/campaigns/aib-mra-floods-2024
