Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad has introduced a new Payment to Voice feature in the BIMB Biz app. The update supports SME and micro-business users by providing real-time voice notifications for every successful DuitNow QR transaction. The feature is free to use and does not require extra devices. This helps merchants reduce missed payment alerts, manage operating costs, and build confidence when accepting digital payments.
Payment to Voice allows up to five cashiers to receive transaction alerts at the same time through their existing devices. Business owners also receive notifications, giving them a clearer view of completed transactions. The feature is available on Android, iOS, and Huawei devices, making it accessible to a wide range of users.
BIMB Biz, launched in 2021, offers tools for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises to collect payments via DuitNow QR, manage accounts, and track transactions in an organised manner. These records can help businesses build a stronger credit history for future financing needs.
As of October 2025, the app recorded around 15,000 active users with total transactions reaching RM1.2 billion. Bank Islam aims for a 50 percent increase in users over the next 12 months, particularly among micro-entrepreneurs running stalls, eateries, bazaar kiosks, night market businesses, and zakat collection points.
According to Bank Islam, Payment to Voice is designed to address day-to-day needs faced by small business owners. The feature supports better cost control, improves security in daily transactions, and encourages organised record keeping as businesses continue to participate in the digital economy.
Customers can use Payment to Voice by downloading or updating the BIMB Biz app from the Apple App Store, Google Play, or Huawei AppGallery. Devices must meet the minimum requirements of iOS 13 or Android 10 and above.
