DuitNow QR Standee Receives A New Look Nationwide
Author Avatar

Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd has refreshed the DuitNow QR standee design. The updated look is being introduced across Malaysia to make the national QR standard easier to recognise. A clearer and more consistent display aims to create a smoother payment experience for both consumers and merchants.

The update focuses only on appearance. DuitNow QR’s functionality, security, and interoperability remain unchanged. Users can continue making payments as usual, and merchants can keep accepting DuitNow QR without adjusting their existing setup.

A Unified Display For Malaysia’s National QR Standard

Over the years, multiple standee designs circulated from participating banks and e-wallet providers. This created inconsistent branding at the point of sale, which sometimes made it difficult for consumers to identify the official QR code.

The refreshed standee design standardises how DuitNow QR is presented. By aligning the visual identity across all providers, the new display reinforces DuitNow QR’s position as Malaysia’s national QR payment method and offers a cleaner, more uniform presence at merchant outlets.

Clearer Identification Supports Consumer Confidence

PayNet highlights that clarity plays an important role as digital payments become more common in Malaysia. According to Gary Yeoh, Chief Marketing Officer of PayNet, the refreshed standee is intended to improve visibility and build trust by helping consumers recognise Malaysia’s official and secure QR standard. It also keeps things simple for merchants, who can continue relying on one QR code to accept payments from participating banks and e-wallets.

Phased Rollout Across Banks And Merchants

The deployment of the refreshed standee began in October 2025. RHB Bank, Bank Islam, MBSB Bank, and Agrobank were among the first to distribute the updated design to their merchants. The nationwide rollout will take place in stages to ensure a smooth transition.

CIMB Bank, Public Bank, Hong Leong Bank, AmBank, Bank Simpanan Nasional, and Bank Muamalat are next in line, with other institutions set to follow. Merchants are encouraged to adopt the new standee once it is made available by their respective acquirers.

Supporting Malaysia’s Move Towards A Cashless Economy

The new design forms part of PayNet’s broader effort to strengthen the country’s cashless ecosystem. A more recognisable and standardised standee reinforces DuitNow QR’s role as Malaysia’s single national QR standard and supports the wider goal of building an inclusive digital economy.
