Bank Muamalat Malaysia has become the first appointed agent of Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB) to offer ASNB Wakaf services through its branch network nationwide.
In a statement released today, the bank announced that ASNB unit holders can now make ASNB Wakaf contributions at any Bank Muamalat branch across the country, starting from 21 April. The initiative aims to improve accessibility for contributors and reflects the shared commitment of Bank Muamalat and ASNB to supporting transparent and effective Islamic charitable services.
ASNB Wakaf allows investors to endow their unit trust investments as wakaf, where the principal remains intact, and any income generated is channelled into projects focused on community and ummah development. These may include efforts related to education, welfare, health, and other socially beneficial causes.
The service is managed by ASNB Wakalah Sdn Bhd, a wakaf management institution responsible for overseeing the entire process, including the collection of donations and the distribution of wakaf benefits to eligible recipients.

Khairul Kamarudin, president and chief executive officer of Bank Muamalat, said the collaboration provides an opportunity to broaden the bank’s Islamic financial offerings, particularly in areas that deliver social value. He added that serving as the first agent for ASNB Wakaf enables the bank to facilitate public contributions through a familiar and convenient investment channel.
To further encourage participation, Khairul announced that the first 100 contributors making ASNB Wakaf donations via Bank Muamalat will each receive a RM30 Touch ’n Go e-wallet voucher.
He emphasised that the availability of ASNB Wakaf through Bank Muamalat reflects the institution’s ongoing commitment to advancing the Islamic financial ecosystem and promoting charitable giving in a structured, impactful manner.
Customers seeking more details about ASNB Wakaf transactions may visit the official Bank Muamalat website at www.muamalat.com.my or approach any Bank Muamalat branch for assistance.
