Bank Rakyat Launches EKVE Community Ride 2026

The Bank Rakyat EKVE Community Ride 2026 will take place on 23 August, offering 30km and 60km routes along the East Klang Valley Expressway (EKVE). Bank Rakyat is targeting between 2,000 and 2,500 participants. About 1,400 registrations have been received so far, including entries from overseas riders, with three weeks left before registration closes on 30 July.

The event is organised with support from the Malaysia National Cycling Federation (MNCF) and EKVE, and marks the first time Bank Rakyat has held an event on a highway. Bank Rakyat’s Chief Marketing and Communications Officer Nizam Sani shared details of the ride at a media briefing in Kuala Lumpur on 8 July.

A Ride For Everyone

The event is a community ride rather than a race, so there are no prizes for the first, second or third finishers. Bank Rakyat said it plans to make the ride an annual event if response continues to be strong.

All participants, whether in the 30km or 60km category, will receive an event jersey, a finisher medal, food and refreshments, and a goodie bag. Riders will also have the chance to meet national cyclists Harrif Saleh, Izzat Roslan, Loh Sea Keong and Nur Aisyah Mohamad Zubir, who are taking part in the event.

A Bank Rakyat sales expo will run alongside the ride at AEON BiG Ampang, with sales booths and a Bank Rakyat counter offering information on the bank’s products and services.

Eligibility And Registration Details

Participants must be aged 16 and above, and those under 18 need parental consent to register. Any bicycle that meets basic safety requirements, including having brakes, is eligible, and e-bikes are allowed.

The 60km category flags off at 6:30am and the 30km category at 7am, both from Plaza Tol Ampang. The 60km route covers two loops with an elevation gain of 1,466m, while the 30km route is a single loop with an elevation gain of 733m.

Registration costs RM70 for the 30km category and RM125 for the 60km category for Bank Rakyat cardholders, while non-cardholders pay RM75 and RM135 respectively. EKVE will be closed to all vehicles from 4am to 12pm on the day of the ride for participant safety.

Riders can register via CheckPointSpot.Asia before applications close on 30 July. Updates are also available through Bank Rakyat’s official social media channels.
