Bank Rakyat has launched its new iRakyat mobile banking app in a bid to develop the digital banking ecosystem to better fulfil its customers’ banking needs.

With the introduction of this new app, Bank Rakyat customers will be able to carry out a number of banking functions at their convenience. These include the ability to check account information, such as their remaining balance, as well as the statements for their savings, current, credit card, financing, and mortgage-i accounts whenever and wherever they want.

Aside from that, customers will also be able to make fund transfers and pay bills via the new iRakyat mobile app. The app also supports Lembaga Tabung Haji and DuitNow transactions, alongside JomPAY. With regard to safety and security, the iRakyat app has a biometric login feature which users can activate for their subsequent logins. These include the use of face identification, among others.

According to the chairman of Bank Rakyat, Datuk Abd Rani Lebai Jaafar, the roll-out of the iRakyat app is in line with the development of new norms and the needs of the current generation, where everything is readily available at their fingertips. “In tandem with the era of digitalisation, Bank Rakyat is always progressive in leveraging technology to ensure that we continue to remain relevant and sustainable to meet the Islamic banking needs of the millennials,” he said.

The chief executive officer of Bank Rakyat, Datuk Syed Abdul Aziz Syed Hassan also chimed in with similar sentiments, adding as well that Bank Rakyat is committed to achieving its digitalisation aspirations by offering a more efficient and integrated Islamic banking system that is driven by the latest technology. “The iRakyat application is also in line with the government’s intention in encouraging digital spending or cashless transactions,” he added.

The Bank Rakyat iRakyat mobile banking app can be downloaded from Google Play or the App Store.
