CIMB To Open Selected Branches This Weekend For Coldplay Fans
Author Avatar

CIMB will be opening selected branches this weekend – 13 and 14 May – to accommodate Coldplay fans who wish to open bank accounts and receive their debit cards in time to buy pre-sale tickets for the band’s upcoming concert in Malaysia. This comes following CIMB’s earlier announcement that it is the main sponsor for Coldplay’s KL concert, and that CIMB credit and debit cardholders will be allowed to purchase exclusive pre-sale tickets on 16 May – one day ahead of the general public.

In a Facebook post today, CIMB stated that these selected branches across Malaysia will be open from 9.30am to 4.30pm, on both Saturday and Sunday, to meet the needs of interested individuals. Here’s the full list of branches that will be open:

CIMB also noted that individuals who wish to open a regular CIMB savings account will need to come by with supporting documents such as their IC, driving licence, as well as utility bills (for verification of address). Additionally, the minimum initial deposit for this account is RM250 – so do remember to bring these items along if you plan to visit these branches and open your CIMB account this weekend! You can find out more on CIMB’s website here.

Meanwhile, if you’re one of those who are planning to try for the exclusive pre-sale tickets on 16 May, remember to take note of a few things so that you can enjoy a smoother purchasing experience! For instance, your ticket purchase must be paid with your preferred card (up to four tickets allowed per card) either on the GoLive website or app – not through CIMB Clicks. Do also consider opening a GoLive account and logging in ahead of time, as the pre-queue starts at 9am (even though the actual pre-sale only starts at 10am).

Finally, ticket prices have also been revealed, and will start from RM228 upwards (excluding RM10 ticket fee per ticket and RM10 transaction fee). Make sure to check and confirm that your card transaction limits and funds in your bank account (specifically for debit cardholders) are set to accommodate your purchases. Other than that, good luck with your purchases!
