Maybank has followed in CIMB’s footsteps in discontinuing the Touch ‘n Go (TNG) card reload services at its automated teller machines (ATMs). This update is set to take effect starting from tomorrow.

“Dear valued customers, please be informed that the Touch ‘n Go service of reloading via ATM will no longer be available from 13/5/2023 onwards. Thank you,” the bank shared in a brief notice, without stating any reasons for the decision.

With this, the only banks that are still providing TNG reload services through ATMs are RHB Bank and Bank Muamalat (with a reload fee of RM0.50 per transaction). CIMB Bank – which is part of CIMB Group, who owns TNG – had also announced the termination of its TNG reload service via ATM early last week.

Aside from bank ATMs, TNG users are able to reload their TNG cards via several other avenues, including self-service TNG kiosks as well as selected stores, petrol stations, and public transport stations. If you have purchased the enhanced TNG card with near-field communication (NFC) capability, however, you can enjoy greater convenience by topping up your card for free from your TNG eWallet app.

The enhanced TNG card – which was launched in April last year – can be purchased at various locations, including selected petrol stations as well as TNG hubs and customer experience centres. Even more conveniently, you can order it from TNG’s official online store on Lazada.
