Last week, we dropped by Mid Valley Megamall to check out the Maybank Cash Back Mastercard Platinum showcase. Held at Centre Court from 23 to 27 September, the five-day event had a little bit of everything, from interactive activities to a closer look at the card’s features.
The showcase was set up like a stamp-card journey. We picked up a journey card at the start and worked our way through five stations. The first four were More To Discover, Stream For More, More To Enjoy and More To Unwind. Once we had collected all four stamps, we could head to the final stop, Maybank Cafe, and redeem either a ZUS Coffee or a Krispy Kreme doughnut.
The activities at each station were also designed around the card’s benefits. One had a touchscreen game where you had to catch groceries in a basket, a playful take on the card’s 8% cash back on digital lifestyle spending. There were also photo spots with airplane window backdrops featuring destinations like Singapore, Thailand, Japan and South Korea, which are among the countries where the card charges no foreign exchange mark-up fee.
Visitors who applied for the card on-site could unlock three additional activities. These included a Flight Simulator and a Merchandise Redemption station with goodies such as a Maybank tumbler and Lilo & Stitch tote bag. Applicants could also try their luck at a giant Gashapon machine for prizes including a Nintendo Switch 2, Setel vouchers and Grab vouchers.
