Save With AmWafeeq And You Could Win A Trip To Bora Bora

AmBank Islamic has launched AmRewards 6.0, a year-long prize draw campaign that rewards you for keeping money in an AmWafeeq Savings Account-i. The campaign runs from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027. Prizes range from RM50 monthly cash payouts to holidays for two to various destinations, plus two electric vehicles.

If you already hold an AmWafeeq Savings Account-i as the primary account holder, you are entered automatically. Your entries depend on how much you save, how much you grow your balance, and how often you use your AmBank debit card each month.

How You Earn Entries

Entries are tied to your monthly average balance (MAB), which is your daily closing balance added up across the month and divided by the number of days.

What You DoEntries EarnedHow Often
Open a new AmWafeeq Savings Account-i and keep at least RM500 MAB in the opening month50 (or 100 if you are aged 18 to 25)One-off
Keep an MAB of RM3,000 or more30Every month
Grow your MAB by RM100 compared to last month10 per RM100Every month
Make at least three debit card transactions10Every month

A new customer who opens an account and parks RM5,000 in the first month would earn 590 entries in one go, since a new customer’s previous-month balance counts as zero. If you hold more than one AmWafeeq account, including joint accounts where you are the primary holder, the balances are combined before entries are calculated.

Sole proprietors, partnerships, SMEs, and non-profit bodies are excluded, and accounts on special or preferential rates do not qualify. Deposits are protected by PIDM up to RM250,000 per depositor.

The Prizes Up For Grabs

The biggest draws happen in June 2027, when one winner each takes home the Bora Bora, Sweden, and Madagascar travel packages, and another drives off with the Volvo EX30. The Proton e.MAS 5 is drawn earlier, in March 2027, as a festive prize. Quarterly draws in September, December, March, and June send twelve more winners on trips to destinations including Yunnan, Japan, Cappadocia, and New Zealand.

PrizeTotal WinnersMinimum MAB
Grand, second, and third prize trips, plus Volvo EX304RM20,000
Proton e.MAS 51RM10,000
Quarterly trips for two12RM5,000
RM500 quarterly cash200RM1,000
RM50 monthly cash9,840RM500

Each prize category carries its own minimum MAB for the draw month, so the RM50 monthly prizes only need a RM500 balance, while the big-ticket draws require RM20,000. Winners of the monthly and quarterly cash prizes can only win once during the campaign, though they stay eligible for the special and final draws.

What Happens After Your Name Is Drawn

Shortlisted winners for the major prizes must answer one question correctly in a recorded phone call from the bank, made within 15 weeks after the draw month. The bank calls three times, and if you miss all three, the prize passes to the next person in line, so keep your mobile number updated with AmBank.

The travel packages cover return flights and four nights of accommodation for two, but you bear everything else, including visa fees, airport transfers, travel insurance or takaful, departure levies, and meals. A Bora Bora trip could still cost you a few thousand ringgit out of pocket. The EV prizes include registration, a year of road tax, and the first-year insurance or takaful contribution, but delivery and running costs are yours.

There is also a trade-off in the campaign design. To stay in the running for the bigger draws, you would keep RM5,000 to RM20,000 parked in the account for months, and that balance could be earning more in high-interest savings accounts or fixed deposits instead. If you were planning to keep that money in the AmWafeeq Savings Account-i anyway, the entries come free. The full terms and conditions [PDF] are available on AmBank’s website.
