Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced a 50% toll discount across all highways in Malaysia for two days in conjunction with the Deepavali 2025 celebration.
The initiative is part of the government’s continued effort to ease the financial burden of Malaysians travelling to celebrate festive occasions with their families.
The toll exemption will apply to all vehicle classes and all highways nationwide, allowing Malaysians to travel home more affordably during the festive period. The government hopes this initiative will help ease traffic flow and reduce travel costs for families celebrating Deepavali.
The two-day toll waiver, announced under Belanjawan MADANI 2026, is part of the government’s wider effort to reduce living costs while fostering unity and inclusivity among Malaysians of all backgrounds.
Anwar said the initiative recognises the importance of cultural and religious celebrations in bringing communities together and supporting family connections.
