From today until 30 September 2020, CIMB is running a campaign that lets its credit cardholders earn 5x Bonus Points when they shop at selected grocery stores, get a 50% Bonus Points rebate when they choose to Pay With Points, and redeem vouchers at reduced Bonus Points rates.

5x Bonus Points Campaign

For the 5x CIMB Bonus Points offer, you will be able to earn 5x the usual Bonus Points when you pay for your groceries at selected retailers – such as Jaya Grocer, Aeon, Tesco, Econsave, and 99 Speedmart – with the following cards:

  • CIMB Preferred Visa Infinite
  • CIMB Visa Infinite
  • CIMB World Mastercard
  • CIMB Visa Signature
  • CIMB e Credit Card
  • CIMB Platinum/Platinum-i

Throughout the campaign period, you are able to earn a maximum of 3,000 Bonus Points per month, which means that you stop earning 5x Bonus Points after you have spent RM600 for that month. Note also that the bank has allocated a total of 60 million Bonus Points per month for this promotion, and is disbursing them on a first-come, first-served basis.

50% Bonus Point Rebate Campaign

Meanwhile, cardholders using the aforementioned cards are also entitled to receive a 50% rebate on their Bonus Points if they opt for the Pay With Points option at selected retailers, at a conversion rate of 400 Bonus Points = RM1. The rebate, however, is capped at 10,000 Bonus Points per month (equivalent to RM25) for each cardholder during the campaign period. In other words, you’ll only get the full 50% rebate if you use Pay With Points for items worth up to RM50 (i.e. 20,000 Bonus Points).

CIMB has earmarked a separate 40 million Bonus Points per month for this promotion, and will also distribute them to eligible cardholders on a first-come, first-served basis.

According to CIMB, all the Bonus Points earned will be credited into your account within six weeks after the end of each participating month. Alternatively, you can notify CIMB within 12 weeks after the end of the campaign period if the Bonus Points are not credited to you.

Discounted Rates For Voucher Redemption

In addition to the above promotions, CIMB is also allowing its cardholders to exchange various vouchers, promo codes, and credits at a conversion rate of 400 Bonus Points = RM1 for a limited time. These include vouchers and credits worth RM50 from Zalora, Lazada, Grab, and Shopee – all of which can be redeemed at 20,000 Bonus Points instead of the usual 23,600 Bonus Points.

You can find out more about CIMB’s ongoing campaign and the full list of participating retailers at CIMB’s website.
