CIMB has announced an update to its Member Rewards Programme, which will affect the way customers redeem their Bonus Points for air miles and hotel points. Starting from 15 August 2024, the minimum redemption block for these rewards will increase from 1,000 points to 5,000 points.
This change means that CIMB credit cardholders will need to accumulate more Bonus Points before they can redeem them for air miles or hotel points, as the minimum redemption amount has increased by five times. This applies to all 14 frequent flyer and hotel loyalty programmes offered by CIMB, as shown here:

It is also important to note that besides this block redemption change, there are no changes to the redemption rate for any of the loyalty programmes above – the last change was back in February 2024 for six programmes.
