Maybank has released the updated terms and conditions for its Regional Golf Programme, which will take effect from 1 January 2026. If you are a premium Maybank cardholder who enjoys teeing off at courses in Malaysia and abroad, there are several key changes to the minimum spend requirements and booking rules that you should know about before your next game.
The most significant update for 2026 is the revision of the minimum spend requirement. To qualify for complimentary green fees, Principal Cardmembers must spend a minimum of RM8,000 in the previous month’s card statement. This ensures your account remains in good standing to access the privileges at participating golf clubs.
This benefit applies to specific premium cards issued in Malaysia. Eligible cards include The Platinum Card (The American Express Platinum Charge Card), Maybank 2 Cards Reserve American Express, Maybank Visa Infinite Diamante, Maybank World Elite Mastercard, and the Maybank Islamic Ikhwan World Elite Mastercard.
Other eligible cards include the Maybank Visa Infinite, Maybank Islamic Ikhwan Visa Infinite, Maybank Manchester United Visa Infinite, Mercedes-Benz Visa Infinite, and the Singapore Airlines Krisflyer American Express Platinum (which is limited to four times access per annum).
The programme provides access to 20 golf clubs in Malaysia and 80 golf clubs overseas. However, access to these courses is subject to availability and specific booking conditions. For instance, selected golf clubs are not accessible on weekends under this programme.
For games within Malaysia, you are allowed to book one flight per booking on a first-come, first-served basis. You won’t be able to make a subsequent booking until your current booked game has been played. For clubs outside Malaysia, you can have up to two active bookings at a time, but the same rule applies regarding completing current games before adding new ones.
All bookings must be made through Maybank Premier Card Services. It is worth remembering that you cannot use a tee time booked by a golf club member, nor can a club member transfer a booked slot to you.
Standard flights require a minimum of two golfers on weekdays and three golfers on weekends and public holidays. While you can usually play with other eligible cardmembers, certain premium clubs have stricter guest rules.
For example, if you plan to play at The Els Club Desaru, Forest City Golf Resort, Tropicana Golf & Country Resort, Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club, Saujana Golf & Country Club, or Sentosa Golf Club, you must be accompanied by at least two paying guests. At these specific clubs, eligible cardmembers are limited to a maximum of four rounds per year.
Maybank has also outlined clear cancellation terms. For clubs in Malaysia and the ASEAN region (Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia), you will be charged 50% of the total golf charges if you cancel four days before the tee-off date. Any cancellation made three days or less before the tee-off date will incur 100% of the charges.
Total golf charges include the green fees for paying guests, as well as caddy, buggy, insurance, and taxes for both cardmembers and guests. Additionally, once a booking is confirmed, any changes to player names, the number of players, or tee times will attract an amendment fee of RM100 per change.
This programme covers green fees only. You and your guests are required to pay for buggies, caddies, insurance, and taxes. Also, ensure you have a valid handicap and insurance policy at the time of booking, as these are mandatory for play.
These terms are valid from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026. If you have any questions or need to make a booking, you can contact Maybank Premier Card Services directly.
