UOB Clarifies Personal Use Policy For World, EVOL, And Lazada Credit Cards
Author Avatar

United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd (UOB Malaysia) has clarified the usage policy for several of its consumer credit cards, reinforcing that they are strictly for personal and non-commercial use.

The clarification applies to the UOB World, Preferred, EVOL, Simple, Basic, and Lazada UOB Cards, and will come into effect on 31 October 2025.

Cards to Be Used for Personal Purposes Only

Under the updated terms, cardholders are not permitted to use their credit cards for business, commercial, or profit-making activities. This includes purchases made for resale, transactions performed on behalf of third parties, or any other activity intended for financial gain.

The update is meant to ensure consistent standards of responsible card usage and compliance across UOB Malaysia’s consumer banking products.

No Change to Rewards or Benefits

This clarification does not alter any existing cashback, reward, or benefit structures tied to the affected cards. Cardholders will continue to enjoy their usual benefits and promotions, subject to the standard eligibility conditions.

UOB Malaysia explained that the revision forms part of a periodic review to strengthen clarity and maintain alignment with the bank’s overall credit card terms and compliance requirements.

Implementation Date and Customer Support

The updated terms will take effect on 31 October 2025. Customers are encouraged to review the revised conditions via the UOB Malaysia website or reach out to the bank’s customer service channels for further assistance.
