United Overseas Bank (UOB) Malaysia has announced a revision to the cashback eligibility criteria for its UOB ONE Classic Card, raising the minimum monthly retail spend required to earn 10% cashback from RM500 to RM800. The new threshold will take effect from the statement month dated 1 June 2025.
Under the revised structure, cardmembers must now spend at least RM800 in eligible retail categories per statement month to qualify for the higher 10% cashback rate in the selected rebate categories of petrol, groceries, dining, and Grab transactions.

For retail spending below RM800, the cashback rate will remain at 0.2%, applicable across all categories, including a broader “other” spending category which has no cap on earnings. The maximum cashback payout per category is capped at RM10 for qualifying transactions.
There are no changes to the UOB ONE Platinum Card, which continues to offer 10% cashback with a higher minimum monthly spend requirement of RM1,500. The Platinum Card provides a maximum of RM15 cashback per category under the same qualifying rebate segments. Further details can be found here.

This just made the card a lot less attractive
