In addition to the revised benefits for its Visa Platinum credit card, Standard Chartered Bank has also announced some sweeping changes for several other credit cards in its portfolio. It is also closing applications for a few more cards.
Standard Chartered has made an interesting move to standardise the minimum annual income requirements for all of its consumer credit cards (non-priority banking) to RM96,000 (or RM8,000/month). While the SC Journey credit card is unchanged (as it already has this income requirement when it was rebranded from the WorldMiles card), the three other cards affected are:
The three cards above currently have minimum annual income requirements between RM24,000 to RM36,000.
Besides the annual income revision for the three cards, a few other cards from StanChart will be “sunset” – they will no longer be available for application. They are:

Of the cards above, the Smart Credit Card is the most recently launched – while it still has a product page on the SC website, it is no longer listed in the “View All Credit Cards” page at the time of writing. As for the other cards, they are much older cards that have already been unavailable (at least publicly) for some time.
These changes will come into effect from 6 December 2024, and will effectively make Standard Chartered credit cards considerably more difficult to obtain with the new income requirements.
