UOB has encouraged its cardholders who are still using the old Citi-branded cards to activate their UOB cards by early July 2024 to avoid any service interruptions. This is likely one of the last steps in the customer-facing segment in the migration of the Citi consumer banking business to UOB Malaysia.
Following the delivery exercise of UOB-branded replacement cards to previous Citibank cardholders which was expected to be completed in Q1 this year, it appears that UOB has completed the exercise and provided a buffer period for cardholders to activate their new cards. During this period, the existing Citi-branded cards may still be used.

However, the latest notice issued by UOB also includes a deadline of sorts, encouraging users to activate their new UOB cards before the end of this month to avoid service interruptions beginning early July to those still using the Citi-branded cards.
Instructions on how to activate a UOB credit or debit card will be included in the mail alongside the cards. Customers who have still not received their replacement cards or require assistance in activating their new UOB card can contact the UOB customer service hotline or submit a request in the dedicated form in the notice shared in the link below.
