Touch ’n Go Launches Plush NFC Charms Inspired By Nasi Lemak And Teh Ikat Tepi
Author Avatar

Most people keep their Touch ’n Go card in a wallet or bag. Now, you could be tapping a tiny nasi lemak or a cup of teh ikat tepi instead.

Touch ’n Go has launched its first plush NFC payment charms, turning two familiar Malaysian breakfast staples into soft accessories that can still be used for everyday transactions.

Plush Charms Turn Breakfast Icons Into Payment Tools

The new accessories are officially called the Touch ’n Go Plushie Charm Malaysian Brekkie Edition, and they come in two designs: nasi lemak and air ikat tepi.

While they look like small plush toys, they function exactly like a standard Touch ’n Go card. The NFC chip is embedded inside the charm, allowing users to tap it at toll plazas, parking terminals, and transit gates.

Just look for the NFC symbol on the plushie and tap it against a compatible reader to complete the payment.

Works For Public Transport Too

According to Touch ’n Go, the charm can be used to purchase the My50 Travel Pass through the Touch ’n Go eWallet.

According to Touch ’n Go, users can purchase the My50 Travel Pass through the Touch ’n Go eWallet using the charm. In practical terms, it works the same way as other NFC-enabled Touch ’n Go cards, except this one happens to look like breakfast.

Price And Where To Buy

The nasi lemak and air ikat tepi plush charms are currently priced at RM55.90 each and are available exclusively on the Touch ’n Go Shop, while stocks last.

Touch ’n Go has also hinted that more Malaysian themed plush charms are on the way. Based on the promotional visuals released so far, two additional designs are expected to be introduced on 19 March.

If you already carry a Touch ’n Go charm on your bag or keychain, this plush version simply gives you a more playful way to tap and go, especially if nasi lemak and teh ikat tepi are already part of your daily routine.
