Amazon Singapore (Amazon SG) is currently running a promotion that offers international free shipping to Malaysia, applicable for the purchase of selected items with a minimum cumulative spend of SG$40 (approximately RM129). 

On its FAQ page, Amazon SG explained that to tap into the offer, you’ll first need to set your delivery address on its website to Malaysia. After that, you’ll be able to see a “FREE Delivery” label on the detail page of items that are eligible for the promotion. Note that only items with this label will qualify you for the free shipping promotion; if you were to add an item without the label, then your existing cart will not qualify for it.  

Amazon SG also shared that you can fulfill the SG$40 minimum spend requirement by purchasing one or more eligible items. Once your shopping cart meets the minimum required amount, the “FREE International Standard Delivery” option will be automatically selected at checkout. 

As you make your purchases, do also take care to double check whether your items are shipped and sold by Amazon SG or Amazon US. This is because you cannot combine items from both marketplaces in a single order to hit the minimum cumulative spend of SG$40. Instead, you must meet the SG$40 threshold for items from Amazon SG and Amazon US separately if you plan to purchase from both marketplaces and enjoy the free shipping promotion. 

For a more convenient shopping experience, Malaysian customers can also select to view the price of their items in Malaysian ringgit, so that they do not need to reach for a currency converter to calculate their costs. This capability was introduced back in 2018, when Amazon first enabled its international shopping feature. Note, though, that the prices displayed are only an estimated conversion; the actual amount that will be charged at checkout will still be in the SGD currency. 

If you’re keen to tap into this rare offer – especially since Amazon does not have a presence in Malaysia – do hurry and make your purchases soon! While Amazon did not specify an end date to this promotion, it did state that it can change or discontinue this offer at any time. It further noted that any changes to the promotion will be published on its platform, so make sure to check in every now and then.
