30% Ticket Discount Introduced For KTMB’s New ETS Launch
Author Avatar

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad has introduced a new Electric Train Service route to JB Sentral, beginning on 12 December. To mark the launch, KTMB is offering a 30% discount for travel between KL Sentral and JB Sentral. The promotion covers journeys from 12 December until 11 January 2026.

Launch Offer Accessible Through JBBEST Promo Code

KTMB stated that passengers can enjoy the introductory offer by entering the promo code JBBEST when purchasing tickets. According to KTMB chief technical officer Ahmad Nizam Amin, a total of 5,000 promo codes have been allocated. These are available on a first come, first served basis and remain subject to the applicable terms and conditions.

Additional Connectivity During A Busy Travel Season

Ahmad noted that the new ETS route arrives at a suitable time, ahead of the school holidays and the year-end festive period. The service is expected to support higher travel demand to and from Johor, while giving Johor residents easier access to destinations outside the state through KTMB’s wider ETS network. He added that the increased connectivity is likely to improve domestic mobility and support tourism and business activity along the corridor.

Booking Options For Passengers

Tickets for the KL Sentral to JB Sentral route can be purchased through the KITS Style mobile application, KTMB’s official website, or at KTMB kiosk machines. Further information is available on KTMB’s website or by contacting the KTMB call centre at 03 9779 1200.

Completion Of The Gemas–Johor Bahru Double-Tracking Project

The launch of the ETS service also marks the completion of the Gemas to Johor Bahru electric double-tracking project. The upgraded route spans 192 kilometres and includes 11 stations, providing the infrastructure required to support KTMB’s expanded electric train operations.
