DoctorOnCall is collaborating with Shopee Malaysia to offer the public easier access to Covid-19 tests. Through DoctorOnCall’s official store on the e-commerce platform, you will be able to purchase Covid-19 real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (rRT-PCR) tests, which are available via a few arrangements at different prices.

According to the International Atomic Energy Agency, the rRT-PCR test is considered to be the most accurate method available for detecting the Covid-19 virus. Compared to other available virus isolation methods, it is significantly faster and has a lower margin of error as the entire process can be done within a closed tube.

DoctorOnCall allows you to take the test via three different arrangements: home visits, swab & go at screening centres, and drive-thrus. Each arrangement is priced differently at RM700, RM600, and RM400, respectively. According to the FAQs, you will be able to get your test result within 48 to 72 hours upon collection of your sample.

Those who wish to be tested at home must be staying within the Klang Valley as the DoctorOnCall team is currently only serving this area. If you purchase the swab & go option, you will need to head to Klinik Qualitas Sharani at Bangsar and get screened there. The drive-thru test is the most accessible of all; it is available in Klang Valley, Penang, Kedah, Perak, Melaka, Johor, as well as Sabah and Sarawak and you can get tested without leaving your car.

Aside from the rRT-PCR test, you will also be able to buy DoctorOnCall vouchers worth up to RM100 at discounted prices. Originally valued at RM20, RM50, and RM100, you can now get them at RM18, RM42, and RM80, respectively. These vouchers can be used when you are buying medications at DoctorOnCall’s online pharmacy; just enter your Shopee voucher code at the check-out stage to enjoy your savings.

To kick off this collaboration, DoctorOnCall and Shopee have also launched a health education and awareness series on Shopee Live, the e-commerce platform’s in-app live streaming feature.

“By leveraging our technology and marketing tools such as Shopee Live, DoctorOnCall is able to bring curated content to viewers at home, educating and creating awareness on the importance of hygiene as well as ideas on having a healthy Ramadan. This is what people need right now,” said the regional managing director of Shopee, Ian Ho.
