Google Offers Malaysian Students Free AI Plus
Author Avatar

If you’re a college student in Malaysia, you could be getting a whole year of Google AI Plus for free. Malaysia is among more than 140 markets included in Google’s back-to-school offer, which also brings new study tools to the Gemini app.

Free Access Worth RM288

Google AI Plus normally costs RM23.99 a month, so a free 12-month year works out to roughly RM288 in savings.

The plan gives you access to Google’s more advanced AI models, which can work with text, images and voice. You also get twice the usage limits of the free tier, along with 400GB of cloud storage.

Signing Up Requires SheerID Verification

To redeem your free AI Plus, sign up at Gemini using a personal Google Account, not one issued by your university. You’ll then need to verify your student status through SheerID with a valid school email address.

Make sure to redeem the offer by 31 December 2026. You’ll need to provide a valid payment method, but you won’t be charged during the first year. After 12 months, Google will charge RM23.99 a month.

New Study Tools For Everyone

Google has also rolled out a dedicated student hub, AI-generated study notebooks, interactive visualisations, and deep research tools inside Gemini Live.

These are free to use for everyone, not just paying subscribers.
