Following announcements made during Google I/O 2026, Google has restructured its AI subscription lineup by introducing a new entry-level Ultra tier priced at RM429.99 a month.
Previously, the only AI Ultra plan was priced at RM1,229.90 a month.
The original Ultra plan has been split into two. The Ultra 5x starts at RM429.99 a month with 20TB of storage, while the Ultra 20x is RM979.90 a month with 30TB, down RM250 from before.
The full lineup now runs from Google AI Plus at RM23.99 a month with 200GB, to Google AI Pro at RM97.99 a month with 5TB, up to both Ultra tiers.
The two Ultra tiers differ mainly in AI usage limits and Google Flow credits. Google Flow, Google’s AI tool for generating cinematic video content, comes with 10,000 monthly credits on the Ultra 5x and 25,000 on the Ultra 20x. The Ultra 20x also unlocks Project Genie, an experimental platform for building and exploring AI-generated virtual worlds.
Google is also changing how usage limits work across all plans. Rather than a fixed daily prompt count, the new system measures computing power used per request, so a simple text prompt uses less than a video generation task.
Limits refresh every five hours, and Pro and Ultra customers who hit their cap can purchase top-up credits for Google Flow and Google Antigravity rather than waiting for the next reset.
Google has positioned both Ultra tiers for developers, creators, and power users who rely heavily on AI tools day to day. Both plans include YouTube Premium, costs RM215 a year if subscribed separately, along with expanded access to NotebookLM, Google AI Studio, and Jules, Google’s AI coding assistant. Both tiers also include Gemini Spark, an AI agent that can manage tasks and take actions across your Google apps on your behalf.
Some features, including Gemini Spark and AI Inbox in Gmail, are rolling out in the US first, with other markets to follow. Ultra customers outside the US will have access to the existing Gemini toolset in the meantime.
At RM429.99 a month, the Ultra 5x plan adds up to over RM5,000 a year. The Pro plan at RM97.99 a month covers the core AI tools without the higher usage limits, so the choice comes down to how heavily you plan to use features like Google Flow.
If you run your own business and are a sole proprietor filing Form B with LHDN, software subscriptions used for work may qualify as a deductible business expense, which could help reduce the effective cost. Just make sure to run it by a tax agent before making any claims.
