HSBC Updates Premier World And Premier Travel Mastercards With New Benefits
Author Avatar

HSBC Bank Malaysia has announced updates to its HSBC Premier World Mastercard and HSBC Premier Travel Mastercard. The refresh includes new card designs and, most notably, an expanded list of travel partners, giving cardholders more options to redeem their Reward Points.

The HSBC Premier World Mastercard

This card is available to HSBC Premier customers who maintain RM300,000 in assets under management with the bank.

The HSBC Premier World Mastercard allows cardholders to earn Reward Points on various types of spending, which can then be converted to airline miles. The earning structure provides 1 mile per ringgit on overseas transactions, 0.53 miles per ringgit on contactless payments, and 0.3 miles per ringgit for spending on groceries and online shopping. Cardholders should note that there are monthly caps on the number of Reward Points that can be earned across different spending categories, including for overseas transactions.

For travel benefits, the card comes with six complimentary visits annually to select Plaza Premium Lounges in KLIA Terminal 1, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

The HSBC Premier Travel Mastercard

Aimed at the ultra-affluent segment, the HSBC Premier Travel Mastercard is available to HSBC Premier Elite customers with RM3 million in assets under management.

Cardholders can earn 1.1 miles for every RM1 spent overseas and 1 mile for every RM4 spent locally. A significant update for travellers is the introduction of DragonPass access, providing 12 complimentary visits for the principal cardholder to over 1,300 airport lounges worldwide each year. Other travel perks include a complimentary one-night hotel stay, which is a benefit provided through the Mastercard World Elite programme.

Expanded Redemption Partners for Both Cards

A major enhancement for both the Premier World and Premier Travel Mastercards is the expanded list of redemption partners. Cardholders can now convert their Reward Points to miles with over 17 global airlines and points with four international hotel chains. You can find a list of the global airlines and hotel chains in the HSBC Premier Travel Mastercard Rewards Catalogue and HSBC Premier World Mastercard Rewards Catalogue respectively on the HSBC website.

This update provides cardholders with greater flexibility and more choices for travel planning. The new redemption options and conversion rates align the Premier cards with the partner list currently available on the HSBC TravelOne Mastercard.

More Choices for HSBC Premier Customers

HSBC’s latest updates to its Premier credit cards introduce refreshed designs and a significantly broader range of travel partners. The changes offer more choice for HSBC Premier customers, particularly those who can benefit from the expanded airline and hotel redemption catalogue.

Potential applicants may want to consider the features, such as the Reward Points structure and lounge access benefits, in relation to their own spending habits and travel needs. These enhancements may be a welcome addition for loyal HSBC Premier customers, providing them with more ways to use their Reward Points for travel.

Choosing the right travel credit card depends on your personal spending and travel style. For those interested in exploring other options, you can easily compare a wide range of travel credit cards in Malaysia on the RinggitPlus website to find the one that best suits your needs.
