Deputy Finance Minister I Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan has said that the Ministry of Finance (MoF) will organise both physical and online engagement sessions in a bid to obtain input from various parties for the tabling of the upcoming Budget 2024.

A team from the MoF will visit various states across the country to meet with members of the public, with Deputy Finance Minister II Steven Sim joining as part of the tour. Meanwhile, those who are unable to meet the team during the tour are welcome to send their feedback, suggestions, and input for Budget 2024 to MoF via the official landing page.

Individuals will need to first fill in their demographic details on the website, after which they’ll be asked to choose five key areas – out of a total of nineteen matters – that the government should prioritise in the upcoming national budget. These include items like subsidies for basic necessities and petrol, public transport, and employment opportunities. Finally, you’ll be allowed to share your opinions and proposals in the final section; you are also able to upload relevant supporting documents if necessary.

Ahmad Maslan further stressed that all proposals – whether received physically or online – will be studied carefully by various parties before the tabling of Budget 2024, and be taken into consideration. Budget 2024 is slated to be tabled on 13 October 2023, on a Friday, at 4pm.
