Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has said that the upcoming national budget will see the inclusion and implementation of bigger and better assistance programmes to help the people cope with financial pressures in their daily lives.

Among other things, Budget 2024 – which is to be the second MADANI budget, in line with the theme of the current MADANI government – will see private trust and microcredit organisation Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) being enrolled to help raise the living standards of the poor. For instance, AIM management may soon work together with the Education Ministry to come up with ways to improve the quality of education for Sahabat AIM children, thereby enabling them to escape poverty.

“…especially in Science and Mathematics. You all should know that our children have been losing interest in these two subjects, although these are very important fields. So, we have to find another way. This is because we need to elevate them to positions better than before, through better levels of education. And that is why this has also been a focus when I took over the government,” said Anwar.

Briefly, Sahabat AIM is a society under AIM, made up of entrepreneurs who have tapped into facilities provided by the organisation or wish to do so.

The upcoming national budget, Budget 2024, is currently slated to be tabled on 13 October 2023 at 4pm, by Datuk Seri Anwar – who is also the Finance Minister.
