Author Avatar

Rapid KL users will pay new rates for selected travel passes starting January 1, 2026. The revision affects daily, multi-day, family, student, and monthly passes, including the introduction of a new 30-day option.

The updated prices have been confirmed by Prasarana Malaysia Berhad and will take effect nationwide on the stated date.

New Prices For Daily And Multi-Day Rapid KL Passes

From January, the Rapid Kota pass for Malaysian citizens will cost RM10 for one day and RM25 for three days. The two-day pass will no longer be available.

The Rapid Kembara pass, which is mainly used by tourists and non-residents, will be priced at RM25 for one day and RM55 for three days. The two-day option will also be discontinued.

The Rapid Keluarga pass, available to Malaysian citizens only, will be priced at RM30 under the revised structure.

Rapid Bulanan 30-Day Pass Introduced At RM150

Prasarana will introduce Rapid Bulanan, a 30-day travel pass offering unlimited access across Rapid KL rail and bus services.

The pass will be priced at RM150 and will be available to both Malaysian and non-Malaysian users.

Changes To Rapid Pelajar Pass Eligibility And Discounts

The Rapid Pelajar concession card will only be open to Malaysian students, with new applications starting on the same date.

Non-Malaysian students with existing Rapid Pelajar passes will continue to receive a 50% discount. This concession remains valid until the pass expires or December 31, 2026, whichever comes first.

No Price Changes For My50 And Selected Concession Cards

Prasarana also confirmed that prices for the My50 pass, as well as Rapid Emas and Rapid Mesra concession cards, will remain unchanged. These products will continue to be offered under existing terms.

Why Rapid KL Is Adjusting Pass Prices

Prasarana Malaysia Berhad’s acting head of stakeholder experience management and group marketing, P. Ashok, said the revision reflects rising operating and maintenance costs, as well as the expansion of the Rapid KL rail and bus network.

He noted that this is the first adjustment to Rapid KL travel pass prices since 2009. Since then, the network has expanded with the opening of the Kajang Line in 2016, the Putrajaya Line in 2022, and additional bus routes that increased coverage and service frequency.
