RapidKL To End Travel Pass Purchases Via MyRapid Apps
Author Avatar

RapidKL has announced that purchases and redemptions of selected travel passes through its MyRapid PULSE and MyRapid Shop mobile applications will be discontinued from 31 December 2025.

The change affects several commonly used Rapid KL passes and comes ahead of the wider travel pass price revisions scheduled to take effect from January 2026.

Passes Affected By The App Discontinuation

From the stated date, commuters will no longer be able to purchase or redeem the My50 Pass, Rapid Kota Pass, and Rapid Kembara Pass through the MyRapid PULSE and MyRapid Shop applications.

RapidKL has not announced the removal of these passes themselves. The update applies only to the digital purchase and redemption channels within the two MyRapid apps.

Alternative Purchase Channels Remain Available

Despite the app changes, commuters can continue to purchase the affected passes through other approved channels.

All Rapid KL Customer Service Counters and selected bus hubs nationwide will continue to offer the My50 Pass, Rapid Kota Pass, and Rapid Kembara Pass. For My50 Pass users, purchases will also remain available through the Touch n Go eWallet application.

What This Means For Regular Commuters

The discontinuation of app-based purchases means commuters who rely on the MyRapid apps will need to switch to alternative purchase methods before the end of 2025.

Knowing where to renew or purchase travel passes in advance can help regular users avoid service disruptions, especially for those who depend on monthly or multi-day passes for daily commuting.

Where To Find Official Updates

RapidKL has advised the public to refer to its official website and customer service channels for the latest information and updates related to travel pass availability and purchasing methods.

As of now, no further changes to pass eligibility or availability beyond the app discontinuation have been announced.
