Commuters in the Klang Valley can now travel for just RM1 per journey with the newly expanded Rapid KL On-Demand service, following the launch of 13 additional zones and a dedicated mobile application. The promotional fare is part of an initiative by Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd to increase access to efficient, cashless public transport and enhance overall user convenience.

The service, now covering 47 zones in total, offers app-based booking through the newly introduced Rapid On-Demand app. Users can pre-book rides and are guaranteed a seat, with operations running daily from 6:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

The newly added zones focus on improving connectivity to MRT stations, with routes including MRT Semantan to KTM Segambut, MRT Sungai Buloh to Bandar Rahman Putra, MRT Kentonmen to the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC), and Kota Kemuning to Gamuda Walk Mall. A total of 35 vans have been allocated across these zones, depending on local demand.

Group Chief Operating Officer (Operations) of Rapid Bus, Mr Amir Hamdan, stated that the Rapid On-Demand app aims to offer convenience at users’ fingertips, while improving the quality of service. He added that the initiative is in line with Rapid KL’s efforts to ensure that its services are sustainable, responsive, and user-friendly, with the broader objective of making public transport the preferred choice for Klang Valley residents.

Payments for the service can be made using various cashless options, including Touch ‘n Go cards, debit or credit cards, MyRapid Concession Cards, the OKU Smile Travel Pass, and Unlimited Travel Passes such as My50, MyCity, and the Family Pass.

Further information is available on Rapid KL’s website or via its official social media channels.
