STR 2027 Applications And Updates Now Open All Year
Author Avatar

You can apply for Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) 2027, or update your existing application, online through MySTR from 15 October 2026. HASiL’s notice says applications stay open all year. HASiL offices are also taking paper forms. The Phase 1 payment date hasn’t been announced yet.

If you receive STR in 2027, you’ll get up to RM150 a month in SARA credit on your MyKad, or up to RM1,800 for the year. As a household or senior citizen, you get this on top of your STR cash. Without STR, you’ll get RM200 in SARA MADANI instead, as long as you’re 18 or older. So someone on STR gets up to RM1,600 more SARA over the year than an adult who isn’t.

STR 2027 Payment Rates

The Budget 2027 summary sets out how much each STR category gets in cash and SARA for the year.

Households earning up to RM2,500 get RM1,800 in SARA for the year. The table shows their STR cash and total by number of children.

3 to 41,1002,900
5 or more1,6003,400

Households earning RM2,501 to RM5,000 get RM1,200 in SARA for the year. Their STR cash is lower than the first group’s, as set out below.

Senior citizens aged 60 and above with no spouse and an income below RM5,000 get RM600 in cash and RM600 in SARA, or RM1,200 in total. Singles aged 21 to 59 earning up to RM2,500 get their STR entirely as SARA credit, which is RM600 with no cash payment.

eKasih is the government’s poverty database. If your household is listed in it as poor or hardcore poor (miskin or miskin tegar), you get a SARA top-up of RM100 or RM50 a month. The Budget 2027 summary lists both rates but doesn’t say which group gets which. In 2026, the SARA FAQ said STR recipients on the eKasih list got their SARA automatically, with no separate application. The Ministry of Finance hasn’t published a SARA FAQ for 2027 yet.

A household earning up to RM2,500 with five or more children gets RM3,400. If it’s also on the eKasih list, a top-up of RM100 a month brings that to RM4,600 for the year, which is the highest amount in the Budget 2027 summary.

Who Needs To Apply Or Update

You need to make a new application if you’ve never applied for STR, or if your record no longer shows up on the portal. If you already receive STR but haven’t updated your application for three years in a row, HASiL requires you to update it for 2027. HASiL’s STR 2026 FAQ said the Warga Emas and Pedalaman (interior areas) categories didn’t need to update if none of their details had changed. You should also update whenever your household income, marital status, number of children, phone number, or bank account changes.

Applying Online Through MySTR

Go to the STR portal and click Permohonan Baharu. You can fill in the form yourself or use MyDigital ID. If you choose MyDigital ID, the app confirms who you are and the portal creates your MySTR account for you.

Have these ready before you start.

  • Your MyKad number, phone number, email address, and correspondence address
  • Your job and your household’s gross monthly income, which is yours and your spouse’s combined
  • The date of your marriage, divorce, or your spouse’s death, if one of these applies
  • The bank name and account number of an active account, for you and your spouse
  • MyKad or MyKid numbers for up to five children
  • Details of an heir (waris), such as a parent, sibling, or child
  • Supporting documents like a marriage or birth certificate, each under 3MB in PDF, JPG, or PNG

Once you submit, the portal offers to register a MySTR account for you. Say yes, because you’ll need that account to check your status and update your details later. HASiL’s new application guide shows each screen.

Updating An Existing Application

HASiL says you can log in with your existing details from 15 October 2026. Click Log Masuk, enter your MyKad number, and click Semak. If you applied before but never created an account, click Daftar Pengguna Baru on the same page to register one first.

Once you’re in, open Perubahan Maklumat Permohonan from your dashboard. Your STR 2026 details will already be filled in, so you only need to change what’s different, enter the captcha, and submit. HASiL’s update guide walks through each page.

Check your bank account number while you’re there. STR is paid into the account on your application. If you don’t give a bank account, you’ll be paid in cash at a Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) counter, and you’ll need to bring your MyKad.

Applying At A HASiL Office

If you’d rather not apply online, you can hand in a paper form at your nearest HASiL office. New applicants use form BK-01. If you already receive STR and only need to change some of your details, use form BK-02. Check the counter opening schedule before you go, and bring your MyKad and supporting documents. The office is also where to go if the portal can’t find your MyKad details when you apply online.

Forgotten Passwords And Locked Accounts

If you’ve forgotten your MySTR password, enter your MyKad number on the portal and click Terlupa Kata Laluan. Type in the email address you registered with, and the portal will send a temporary password there. Log in with it, then set a new password. HASiL’s password reset guide shows each screen.

If the temporary password doesn’t work, you can reset your password by answering your security questions instead. You get three tries. Get all three wrong and your MySTR ID is blocked for 24 hours, after which you can try again. If you’re still locked out after that, call HASiL’s hotline on 1-800-88-2747 between 9am and 5pm, or visit your nearest HASiL office.

Keep Your Record Up To Date

Phase 1 of STR 2026 was paid from 20 January 2026. If 2027 runs the same way, update by the end of December. That way, your household and bank details are current when Phase 1 is paid. Only apply through the official STR portal, as the Ministry of Finance has warned the public about fake STR links.
