Every Malaysian Muslim registered with Tabung Haji has a place in the queue to perform Haj, but those hoping to go before their scheduled turn can submit an appeal.
For the 1448H/2027 Haj season, Tabung Haji is opening its appeal process a month earlier than usual, from 2 October. Group managing director and CEO Mustakim Mohamad said the earlier opening will give prospective pilgrims more time to prepare financially, physically, and spiritually.
The full Haj cost for pilgrims selected through the appeal process is RM33,300 for the 1448H/2027 season, unchanged from last year. To apply, you need at least RM15,000 in your TH account. That RM15,000 is the minimum balance needed to be eligible to apply, and successful applicants will need to pay the remaining amount.
If you’re still building your savings, you can top up using your EPF. The Haj withdrawal limit was raised to RM10,000 from January 2026, and TH no longer requires you to verify your TH balance when applying.
Applications are assessed on merit, including how long you’ve been registered, your age, your average TH balance, how consistently you’ve saved and whether you’ve attended TH’s Basic Haj Course.
TH gives priority to two groups. The first is mahram, meaning a male relative required to accompany a female pilgrim. The second is companions of elderly pilgrims or pilgrims with disabilities. For both groups, the Haj payment is based on the income group rate (B40, M40 or T20) of the pilgrim they are accompanying, not the flat RM33,300 rate.
Applications can be submitted through the THiJARI app, available on the App Store and Google Play, or at THiJARI from 2 October. For further help, contact the Tabung Haji Contact Centre at 03-6207 1919.
TH will notify you of the outcome by the end of Syawal. If you do not receive a notification by then, you may apply again when the next appeal period opens.
