Tourism Malaysia and MYDIN launched the “Jom Jalan MYDIN” campaign, offering more than RM5 million in travel prizes as part of a partnership combining shopping rewards with domestic travel incentives ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026).

Cruise And Hotel Packages Up For Grabs

The campaign runs until 30 September at selected outlets across MYDIN’s 83-branch nationwide network, where a Treasure Hunt activity invites participants to complete challenges while exploring tourism attractions.

Prizes include 10 three-day, two-night cruise packages and 30 four-day, three-night hotel stay packages sponsored by Tabung Haji Travel, along with vouchers and gifts from partners including Sunway Lagoon, Lost World of Tambun, and Setel.

Domestic Travel Spending Hit RM34 Billion In Q1

Tourism Malaysia senior director Mohd Akbal Setia cited figures from DOSM’s Domestic Tourism Survey showing domestic visitor spending reached RM34 billion in the first quarter of 2026, up 15.8% from RM29.4 billion a year earlier. Domestic visitor arrivals also rose 7.2% to 74.7 million during the same quarter, up from 69.7 million a year earlier.

Based on these figures, average spending per domestic visitor works out to about RM455 in Q1 2026, up from roughly RM422 a year earlier. Jom Jalan MYDIN aims to tap into this growing domestic tourism spending by giving Malaysians another reason to travel locally.
