3 Things To Look Out For When Buying A Smartwatch
Author Avatar

Through the rapid evolution of tech advancement in recent decades, consumers now have plenty of options when it comes to wearable technology. In 2021, wearables are comprised of anything from smart masks with the ability to detect the presence of airborne chemicals, to smart rings that, like a debit card, can complete purchases through contactless payment methods.

One of the more commonly adopted wearable tech is the smartwatch. With so many options available in the market, how do you know where to begin when finding the right smartwatch for you?

Let’s explore three things to consider when shopping for a smartwatch.

1. Features

Arguably the most important, you’d need to pick a watch that suits your lifestyle and has all the capabilities that you’re looking to fulfill. If you’re a swimming enthusiast with a penchant for diving, it would only make sense to purchase one that can tell your strokes apart and withstand depths.

For those who are looking to monitor their health more closely, it’s crucial to look for those equipped with health-specific features such as heart rate monitoring, sleep monitoring, and ECG tracker.

2. Display & Design

If style is an extension of your personality, then you’d surely want a watch that compliments your taste. Customisability and display quality may also play a big role in your decision-making process. You may want to ask yourself if the available watch faces/screen options suit your style or if not, there is a chance that they’re customisable. When it comes to the physical display, users may have a preference for AMOLED instead of the LCD or vice versa.

Smartwatches also come in a variety of shapes and sizes and while some prefer the additional screen estate a larger face offers, others may opt for something light and less obtrusive.

3. Battery Life

Those with busy lifestyles may benefit from having a smartwatch with longer battery life and save themselves the trouble of having to charge every few hours. Longer battery life also means people who work remotely or are constantly on-the-go need not lug around their watch charger cables along with them. Besides that, fast charging watches may also be something of interest to some.

The process of finding a suitable smartwatch that not only checks all your boxes, but is also at the right price point may not be as straightforward as you think, especially considering the myriad of choices available in the market. If you’re looking for one that strikes a balance between useful features, high-quality display, and long battery life, consider purchasing a smartwatch from Amazfit.

Enjoy 150+ Built-In Sport Modes & More With Amazfit Smartwatches

Amazfit GTR 3 Pro, Amazfit GTR 3, and Amazfit GTS 3 all have their own unique features but one that must be highlighted is that all three have over 150+ built-in sport modes, built-in online and offline assistants, and run on Zepp OS.

Zepp OS is the new operating system that powers Amazfit smartwatches. Among its new features are new and faster animations at up to 60fps and app support. Zepp OS brings with it 10+ mini apps that come bundled with each smartwatch, such as water-intake app, calendar, and an app that allows easy controls for smart home devices called HomeConnect. Developers could design their own watch faces and apps using a web-based app developer kit that’s hopefully coming in the future.

Amazfit GTR 3 Pro

Dubbed the premium one of the three, Amazfit GTR 3 Pro sports a classic round design with a rotatable crown for easy, intuitive navigation. Complete with 23 editable modular dials and 15 animated watch faces, the 1.45inch ultra HD AMOLED display makes scrolling through the different modes and interacting with the built-in Alexa and offline voice assistant easy.

Business professionals would enjoy the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro’s ability to make and answer phone calls via Bluetooth without having to reach for their phones. Choose between a minimal black strap that matches everything or a classic brown leather strap for a more serious look.

The GTR 3 Pro has a 24-hour heart rate, stress, and blood oxygen monitoring that examines four health metrics (including breathing rate) in a single tap. On top of that, the watch has warning alerts for low blood oxygen, high stress levels, and high heart rates. Coupled with the 12-day battery life, the GTR 3 Pro makes a good option for busy individuals who like the classic look, premium feel, and want to keep a close eye on their health.

Amazfit GTR 3

The Amazfit GTR 3 resembles the GTR 3 Pro but offers a far better battery life with up to 21 days on a full charge with typical usage while on battery saving mode, the watch can last up to 35 days. It also has a rotatable crown for easy navigation. The GTR 3 comes in two colours: Moonlight Grey or Thunder Black, with a matching antibacterial silicone strap

The watch possesses a 60fps, 326ppi display on its 1.39inch screen. Like the GTR 3 Pro and GTS 3, the GTR 3 also offers plenty of customisation options with over a hundred watch faces and matching always-on displays, as well as choices of editable watch faces and animated watch faces. Individuals who are constantly moving about and like the classic watch look will appreciate the GTR 3’s round face and long battery life.

Amazfit GTS 3

Available in three colourways, the Amazfit GTS 3 opts for a more modern look with a square 1.75inch display size. Its stylish design is thanks to an 8.8mm elegant body* made from aircraft-grade aluminium alloy that weighs only 24.4g and a bezel-less face that allows users to focus all their attention on the display. Out of the three, the GTS 3 offers the biggest display, boasting an always-on screen size of 1.75inch.

In terms of battery, the smartwatch can last up to 12 days for typical usage with a full charge. Besides that, the GTS 3 has many similar features to the GTR 3 and GTR 3 Pro like the Zepp OS, health and fitness tracking, warning alerts, and sport modes.

Finding the right smartwatch that can seamlessly integrate into your daily routine and fulfill all your needs may not be very simple but if sport features, customisability, clear display, and health monitors are important to you, Amazfit GTR 3 Pro, GTR 3, and GTS 3 offer all those features and more. Choose between a classic round face or a more modern square look, as well as online and offline voice assistants, and 5ATM water resistance. Not just that, all three models run on Zepp OS and also have an always-on display for quick and easy navigation.
