Have you seen the Tigers out and about lately? They have been turning up in some unlikely places, from Johor to Singapore to Merlion Park, Shibuya Crossing, and outside the Sydney Opera House. They are part of MAE’s latest campaign, and the message is simple. Wherever you go, MAE goes with you.
That is the idea behind the Tiger. The app takes care of the small, everyday money moments at home, then keeps working the moment you cross a border, from the morning kopitiam run to a holiday overseas.
Paying by QR is second nature for most Malaysians now, and Samsung users have an even quicker way to do it. Scan & Pay works straight from Samsung Wallet in a single swipe, and it earns rewards as you go. To join, open Samsung Wallet and tap Promotions, then activate MAE Scan & Pay.
The rewards come in three parts. Link your MAE Wallet and make your first Scan & Pay to get RM5 cashback. On your 15th transaction, you can get either up to RM10 in cashback or a RM15 Zus Coffee voucher. On your 30th, earn 1,000 Samsung Rewards points, worth RM30. Across the campaign, there is up to RM500,000 in cashback and vouchers to be shared.

MIGA-i, the Maybank Islamic Gold Account-i, offers a way into gold without the usual outlay or the need to store anything physical. You can start from a small amount – RM10, entirely within the app and in line with Shariah principles. During the campaign, there is also up to 66 grams of gold to be won.

The Global Access Account-i*, or GAA-i, is the part built for spending abroad. It lets you hold and exchange up to 18 currencies with zero conversion fees, and your balances earn monthly profit rates while they sit in the account.
Opening one also counts towards the Travel Ready, Rewards Steady campaign, with up to RM80 in MAE Top-up PIN for new sign-ups. The first 1,000 customers each month who open a GAA-i receive a RM50 MAE Top-up PIN, with another RM30 for completing any one of three actions, whether that is signing up for TripCare 360 Takaful**, buying an eSIM through MAE, or making two GAA card payments of at least RM150 each, or the equivalent in foreign currency. The campaign runs from 5 August to 31 October 2026.
*Maybank Islamic is a member of Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia (PIDM). Global Access Account-i is protected by PIDM up to MYR250,000 for each depositor.
**The benefit(s) payable under eligible product is (are) protected by PIDM up to limits. Please refer to PIDM’s TIPS Brochure or contact Etiqa General Takaful Berhad or PIDM (visit www.pidm.gov.my) | Member of PIDM.
Overseas, the same QR habit works just as it does at home. Open the Scan feature and you can pay directly in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and a growing list of other countries, which saves hunting down a money changer or bringing home notes you will not use.
Taken together, these features cover the everyday and the occasional, from paying for lunch to setting money aside, starting on gold, or getting ready to travel. Whichever ones fit your life, MAE is built to move with you, at home and every time you head somewhere new. It’s You and MAE, Anytime, Everywhere.
