Time dotCom Bhd has rolled out no contract home broadband plans in Malaysia, giving households more flexibility without a 24 month commitment. The offer is available for a limited time until 7 February and is targeted at new customers signing up during the promotional period.
The move reflects growing demand for broadband plans that allow users to adjust their service without being tied to long contracts, especially for renters, students, and households with changing needs.
During Time’s no contract option, subscribers are not locked into a long term agreement and can terminate the service at any time without early termination penalties. Instead, the plan is structured around a one time upfront charge, which is normally non refundable and applies when there is no contract.
For this promotion, Time is effectively offsetting that upfront cost by bundling installation and a WiFi 6 router at no additional charge. Outside of the promotion, these upfront charges typically amount to RM650 for the 600Mbps plan and RM800 for the 1Gbps plan.
The promotion currently covers two fibre broadband speeds. The 600Mbps plan is priced at RM139 per month, while the 1Gbps plan costs RM199 per month. Both plans are offered without a contract and include installation and a WiFi 6 router as part of the limited time offer.
Time also offers a 200Mbps no contract plan at RM99 per month under its standard pricing, although this speed tier is not included in the current promotional bundle.
One notable feature of Time’s no contract plans is the ability for customers to upgrade or downgrade their broadband speed after activation. This allows users to adjust their plan if their usage changes over time, whether they find their initial speed is more than they need or not sufficient for their household.
This flexibility can be useful for families, remote workers, or students whose internet requirements may change during the year.
The no contract promotion is only available to new subscribers who sign up through authorised Time sales channels during the promotional period. Registrations are subject to limited availability, and Time notes that slots may fill up before the promotion ends.
To remain eligible for the offer, customers must install and activate their fibre service within two months from the subscription date.
Auto debit is required for all no contract plans, as standard billing methods are not supported. Subscribers are automatically enrolled in the Time Voice Home Basic plan, which operates on a pay as you use basis for voice calls.
Customers on the no contract plan are not eligible for additional promotions or discounts beyond what is stated under the offer.
The no contract plan is only open to new customers and cannot be converted from an existing 24 month contract plan. Relocation of service is also not supported under the no contract option, which may be an important consideration for users who expect to move homes.
As the one time charge structure applies outside promotional periods and is non refundable, users are encouraged to consider their long term needs before signing up.
For consumers who value flexibility over long term commitments, Time’s no contract broadband plans provide an alternative to traditional fibre contracts. The current promotion lowers the upfront cost barrier, making it easier to try a higher speed connection without being locked in.
However, availability is limited, and the offer is time bound, so interested users should factor in installation timelines and eligibility requirements before committing.
