Touch ‘n Go Digital Sdn. Bhd. has introduced the Touch ‘n Go eWallet Visa Travel Card, a prepaid card designed to help Malaysians make payments and cash withdrawals globally, wherever Visa is accepted.
The Travel Card offers seamless integration with the Touch ‘n Go (TNG) eWallet app, giving users convenient access to their eWallet balance when travelling abroad.
The Touch ‘n Go eWallet Visa Travel Card is a prepaid Visa card linked directly to the user’s eWallet account. It can be used to pay for goods and services or withdraw cash at ATMs worldwide through Visa’s payment network.
The card functions both online and offline, with Visa PayWave support for quick contactless payments. Users can view and manage their card through the TNG eWallet app, including checking balances, tracking transactions, and locking the card if needed.
Applications for the Travel Card can be made through the Touch ‘n Go eWallet app. To qualify, users must be aged 12 and above and be a Malaysian resident or a legally employed foreigner with a valid Malaysian address.
Users are also required to complete electronic Know-Your-Customer (eKYC) verification before activating their card.
The Visa Travel Card application fee is RM20, which includes a RM5 delivery fee. The annual fee of RM8 is waived for the first year.
For cash withdrawals within Malaysia, a domestic ATM fee of RM1.40 per transaction applies. Withdrawals made overseas are subject to a cross-border ATM fee of RM10.00 per transaction, while cross-border transaction fees are currently waived until further notice.
A card replacement fee of RM20 applies for user-initiated requests, while card cancellation is free of charge.
The Travel Card shares the same wallet balance limits as the TNG eWallet. Online transactions are limited to RM5,000 per day or up to 20 transactions daily. PayWave contactless transactions are capped at RM1,250 per day, while PIN-based transactions may total up to RM5,000 daily. For ATM withdrawals, users can withdraw up to RM5,000 per day, limited to a maximum of five withdrawals.
Users can adjust their personal limits and settings through the eWallet app to manage spending and security preferences.
When used overseas, the Visa Travel Card automatically converts foreign currency transactions into Ringgit Malaysia. The conversion rate is determined by Visa’s prevailing exchange rate at the time the transaction is processed.
Touch ‘n Go Digital does not set or maintain its own foreign exchange rates. The final amount charged may differ slightly from the merchant’s displayed amount due to Visa’s conversion rate and any third-party fees imposed by overseas banks or payment processors.
Cardholders may terminate their Travel Card at any time without affecting their eWallet balance. Termination requests can be made by contacting the TNG Customer Experience Centre, and written confirmation will be provided once the termination is complete.
For enquiries, users may reach the TNGD customer service team via the Help section in the eWallet app or by visiting the Touch ‘n Go Customer Experience Centre in Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur, during business hours from Monday to Friday.
