ETS Celebrates 16 Years With Up To 30% Off Selected Tickets

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) is offering discounts of up to 30% on selected Electric Train Service (ETS) tickets as it marks the service’s 16th anniversary.

The two-week promotion runs from 21 August to 6 September 2026 and covers selected routes, dates and seats. Some passengers can also get RM16 off their tickets during the campaign.

The discount comes as KTMB expects demand for train travel to rise during the school holidays and National Day celebrations.

More ETS Seats Available For Holiday Travel

KTMB has opened 124 additional trips covering ETS and Electric Train Service (EMU+) services, adding almost 39,000 seats to the available capacity.

The additional seats can be booked through KTMB’s official ticketing channels, including its KITS website, Apple App Store, and Google Play Store, as well as ticket kiosks and counters.

About 20% of the additional seats had already been sold when the announcement was made. KTMB has advised passengers to book early, as all 44 of its existing scheduled trips had already sold out.

The additional services include EMU+ trips from Bandar Tasik Selatan (TBS), which will begin on 21 August. The service will make additional stops at Subang Jaya and Klang to make it easier for passengers to get around.

The extra capacity comes as demand for ETS continues to grow. KTMB said the service has carried more than 44 million passengers since it was introduced 16 years ago.

The anniversary celebrations also include free nasi lemak at selected stations, collaborations with KFC and Heurix, as well as small gifts for passengers.

With more people expected to travel during the upcoming holidays, the additional trips give passengers more options if regular ETS services are already sold out.
