Rapid KL has launched a digital Rapid Monthly Pass, allowing commuters to purchase and activate unlimited travel for 30 days entirely through the Touch ‘n Go (TNG) eWallet app. The RM150 unlimited monthly pass was previously only available over the counter at station counters and selected bus hubs. The pass is open to all passengers, including non-citizens.

This is separate from the My50 Pass, which is restricted to Malaysian citizens and costs RM50 a month through a government subsidy. The Rapid Monthly Pass carries no such restriction, making it the first unlimited travel option on the network open to everyone.

A Pass That Covers The Entire Rapid KL Network

The Rapid Monthly Pass gives you 30 consecutive days of unlimited travel across all Rapid KL services, covering the LRT, MRT, Monorail, BRT Sunway, Rapid KL buses, and MRT feeder buses. There is no cap on the number of trips per day.

To use the digital version, you’ll need a smartphone with Near Field Communication (NFC) capability and the latest version of the TNG eWallet app. Purchase and activation are handled entirely within the app, so there’s no need to visit a station counter unless you prefer to. Physical passes remain available at Rapid KL customer service counters for those who want them.

Who Can Use The Digital Rapid Monthly Pass

The My50 pass is subsidised at RM50 a month but is tied to a MyKad, so it’s limited to Malaysian citizens. The Rapid Monthly Pass at RM150 is open to anyone using the network, including expatriates and long-term visitors who commute regularly.

If you’re a non-citizen using Rapid KL daily, this is the first time an unlimited monthly option has been available to you. Rather than topping up trip by trip, you can pay a flat RM150 and travel without restriction for the month.

Whether RM150 Works Out For You

At RM150 for 30 days, the pass pays off if you’re making regular, multi-mode use of the network. A weekday commuter making two trips a day on 22 working days would average around RM3.41 per day under the pass, compared to paying per journey at standard fares.

If your travel is occasional, or you only use one mode, paying as you go will likely cost you less. The pass is better value when you’re combining rail and feeder buses daily, where individual fares build up across the month.

If you’re already on the My50, nothing changes. The RM150 pass is not a replacement for that scheme, and the subsidised option remains available through the TNG eWallet since July 2025.
