Alliance Bank has enhanced its Visa Virtual Credit Card (VCC) by integrating Samsung Pay and Google Pay, providing users with more options for secure, contactless payments in physical stores. This development supports the growing adoption of digital payment solutions and aims to offer a seamless experience for both online and in-store transactions.

The integration allows users to make payments using their mobile phones or wearable devices at NFC-enabled terminals. This addition aligns with the preferences of the bank’s customer base, 60% of whom use Android devices. Alliance Bank has also announced plans to integrate Apple Pay in the future, ensuring compatibility across all major mobile platforms.

Gan Pai Li, Group Chief Consumer Banking Officer at Alliance Bank, stated, “By integrating Samsung Pay and Google Pay, the VCC offers a modern, trustworthy solution to win over past sceptics. There is enhanced security where it protects against fraud with features like single-use DCNs and preset spending limits.”

The Visa Virtual Credit Card, introduced in April 2023, includes Dynamic Card Numbers (DCNs), which generate unique, temporary numbers for each transaction. Announced during its launch, this feature enhances security by protecting user data and reducing the risk of fraud. Users can manage their cards digitally with options such as customisable spending limits and personalised expiration dates. Its fully digital design eliminates the need for plastic cards, supporting sustainability efforts.

Since its introduction, the VCC has gained strong adoption, reflecting consumer demand for digital payment options. With the addition of NFC technology, the card now supports secure in-store transactions, further expanding its functionality. No fraud incidents have been reported to date, underscoring its focus on security and reliability.

Alliance Bank aims to onboard over 10,000 users for Samsung Pay or Google Pay by March 2025. The Visa VCC is available via the Alliance Bank mobile app, providing a digital payment solution designed for convenience, security, and sustainability.
