Association of Banks Urges Putra Heights Fire Victims to Seek Financial Assistance

The Association of Banks in Malaysia are strongly advising victims impacted by the recent Putra Heights fire to contact their respective banks as soon as possible through official websites or customer service hotlines for financial assistance.

Victims can also reach out to ABMConnect at 1300-88-9980 or abmconnect@abm.org.my.

Etiqa (Maybank’s insurance and takaful arm), on the other hand, announced that it would cover all eligible motor, personal accident, retail fire, homeowners and householders insurance customers affected by the Putra Heights fire incident. No police reports would be needed to ensure fast claims process.

Customers may submit their claims via the Etiqa Special Hotline – Putra Heights Explosion Claims at 011-16306646 (WhatsApp) or (03)2692-8188.

Meanwhile, Bank Islam took to their Facebook to announce that it is offering to defer monthly payments for up to six months for House, Personal and Vehicle Financing-i customers affected by a disaster, subject to the terms and conditions set.

“For further information and assistance, please contact the nearest Bank Islam branch or our customer service centre”, the post reads.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, during his visit to the Putra Heights fire site, announced that impacted victims will receive immediate financial aid of RM5,000 for houses that have completely perished and RM2,500 for houses that are partially impacted.
